Answer: Yes, the tube station is outside our college and transport to Oxford Street takes 15 minutes.

Answer: Yes, Golders Green has a main bus station, coach station and underground station.
What are the most common nationalities of the students in the college?
Answer: It varies; we had over 36 different nationalities last time we counted. The College is a real mixture of cultures and nationalities
Are all the teachers qualified?
Answer: Yes, all our teachers hold professional teaching qualifications either the Cambridge CELTA or the Trinity Cert.TESOL. Many of our teachers also hold advanced qualifications such as the Trinity Dip.TESOL, Cambridge DELTA or an MA in Applied Linguistics or EFL. Because we train teachers, we have more highly qualified teachers than most normal language schools.
How many students normally study at the college?
Answer: We usually have around 300 students studying with us at any one time.
Can tuition fees be paid in instalments?
Answer: Yes. Academic Year fees can be paid in termly instalments.
Do students have to pay the registration fee every time they re-enrol?
Answer: No, this is only paid once; at the time you first join the college.
Can students use the Internet access facilities at the college?
Answer: Yes, Students have free access to the computers in the Computer Suite.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of weeks that a student can book for studying English?
Answer: You can book any period of study from one week to one year.
What kind of English courses does the college offer?
Answer:

How many levels of study does the college offer each day?
Answer: Eight.
Does the college offer One-to-One lessons?
Answer: Yes, we offer One-to-One lessons for General English improvement, Academic English and Business English.
Can part-time students choose the days they study?
Answer: Yes, part time students can study 2, 3 or 4 days and may choose which days they prefer (Monday – Friday).
Can students change from morning to afternoon classes (or the reverse) after they start?
Answer: Yes, if students need to change, perhaps to coincide with work commitments, this is no problem.
Can students change levels during the term?
Answer: Once a student is settled in a certain level, they must pass the end of term exam before moving to a higher level. Struggling students may move to a lower level if necessary.
How do students progress?
Answer: At the end of each term (12 weeks) every student in the college is tested to see if they are ready to move to the next level.
How are students placed in class at the start of their period of study?
Answer. The college uses the ARELS Placement Test plus a trial lesson to determine the correct level for each new student.
Can students buy course books from the college?
Yes, all students must buy a course book each term – either from the college or from a book shop.

How well established is the Teacher Training Course at Golders Green College?
Answer: The college has been providing Trinity Cert.TESOL courses since 1995. We train over 100 teachers a year, making us one of the premier TEFL/TESOL training centres currently operating.
What kind of Teacher Training courses does the college offer?
Answer: Trinity Cert.TESOL full-time, Trinity Cert.TESOL part-time.
Who checks the quality of the Teacher Training Courses?
Answer: Trinity is an independent UK examination board.

Trinity checks every course we run and conducts the externally assessed components of the Cert.TESOL courses. Trinity qualifications are accepted by the British Council and fit into the QCA framework of national UK qualifications.
Will the college help me get a job after the course?
Answer: The course includes advice on job searching and we provide links with employers seeking newly qualified teachers worldwide.
Can foreign nationals take Teacher Training Courses?
Answer: Yes, they need CPE Grade ‘A’ or equivalent to take the Trinity Cert.TESOL.

Does the college provide accommodation for students?
Answer: Yes, we have many families providing good quality accommodation for as long as you need it.
Does the college help students with welfare and social issues?
Answer: Yes, we have dedicated welfare officers from different countries who will help you with any problems you want to discuss.
Can students get subsidised transport cards?
Answer: Yes, if you enrol full-time for 14 weeks or more, you can get an ISIC card and reduced transport charges. The Discount is 30%.
Are students entitled to take holidays?
Answer: Yes, Academic Year students are entitled to take 16 weeks of holiday at times of their choice. You must inform reception at least one week in advance.
Can the college arrange Visa documentation?
Answer: Yes, genuine students will have full documentation provided to assist with their application for the requisite visa.
Can the college help with getting students a reduction in Council Tax?
Answer: Yes, the college will provide a letter to support your application for reduced Council Tax fees.
Can students work in London?
Answer: Yes, full time students on Tier 4 Visas can work for 20 hours per week while studying.
What kind of social activities does the college offer?
Answer: The college has a student party at the beginning and end of every term. We also have a party to celebrate special occasions such as Halloween and Valentine’s Day. In the summer, we offer trips to other cities and places of interest.
